The Fullerton Hotel Singapore… Charming, Mesmerizing and Alluring
I couldn’t believe that I bumped into my university room mates in Fullerton Hotel Singapore.
“You should be in the States… What brings you here?’’ I asked expectantly.
“Fullerton Hotel Singapore”! An answer that Andrew spilled out without any hindsight or reservation…
What happen was that Andrew was here in Singapore for a 3 days trade fair, but what really interest him was not so much of the trade fair (I would have sack him if I am his boss! But there again he was just being honest) but because of his fascination with the Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
He has heard much and raving about the Fullerton Hotel Singapore from travel magazines. But nothing beat those from his own colleagues’ hotel experience, which he grown tired of listening (he must be listening with jealousy).
Initially I was a little shocked…but when I regained my composure, I was not surprised by what he had told me. He went on to show me his room and rave about the beauty, grace and comfort of the hotel. What followed was simply a reversal of role. Now I was treated like a tourist while he showed me the many splendid of Fullerton Hotel Singapore. Like a little boy…whose dream was being realized…I could see his enthusiasms and satisfaction in his eyes.
Not many hotels in this city can lay claim to a place in Singapore history. Built in 1928, the Fullerton Hotel Singapore building has witnessed and survived countless historical moment and now, a present day marvel after the transformation and preservation. There is something about Fullerton Hotel Singapore; charming, mesmerizing, and alluring. The mystical, classical yet contemporary style structure lends a touch of history to a young city nation.

Fullerton Hotel Lobby
The lobby looked really astounding and pleasing to me. Perhaps it was the greenery tall plant (it immediately caught my eyes). It was cleverly planted around the lobby area. The lobby instantly had a touch of green nature, giving me a very refreshing feeling. The bamboo kind of plant, together with the high column structure made the walk in to the hotel lobby very majestic and tall. I particularly loved the beautiful koi (carp) in the Atrium pool. There were also antiques and artwork displayed around the public area; very pleasing indeed. What’s more, the place was brightly lighted up and projected a very tropical feel…

Fly in
Restroom
Having met up with Andrew and chatted, I took the opportunity to have a look at the restroom. After all, the restroom was the place where high standard of hygiene and cleanliness were set. And I was not disappointed! It was sparkling clean. And how thoughtful! The hotel actually took great pain to input a small fly in the urination cubicles. The motive was obvious – Aim gentleman! (hahaha…)
The restaurants and bars in the hotel were truly a unique experience. The Courtyard located in the brightly lit atrium lobby served great afternoon English Tea. It also featured a wonderful Chocolate Buffet of sinful chocolate creation. And you will be fascinated with the Chocolate Fountain. Hmm…chocolate lovers beware! As for Andrew…he thoroughly enjoyed it; having shared a room with him in the States – he is a chocolate addict.
Serving a wide range of international dishes, the Town Restaurant enabled us to slow down in the hot sunny day and enjoy a stunning view of the Singapore River. A wonderful place for al fresco dining. The restaurant was modern and spacious; it was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the cool breeze… Service wise, it was purely first class. The restaurant staffs were attentive and quick in changing our dirty plates for a new replacement. Certainly, there were other establishments like Jade Restaurant, Post Deli Express to name a few.

Fullerton Hotel Room
The room gave a nice feeling; cozy and warm. When I stepped in I could sense a mesmerizing scent from the room… The room was not exactly big but was nicely decorated (you could request for Quay side rooms for bigger room and better view). The bed itself and linens no doubt was of the highest quality. The bed linen and towels were regularly changed several times a day. However, Andrew commented that the bed mattress was a little hard to his liking. But personally I prefer it to be hard. I noticed that the bed was the highest that I have experienced.
“I was practically jumping up and down from the bed’’ commented Andrew. I laughed as he is not very tall after all. Hmm…I remembered I used to make fun of him…calling him Strawberry Shortcake!!
Oh yeah… there was even a pillow menu to choose from if you were not satisfy with the comfort level of the pillow.
The room had a big marble bathroom and an impressive bench space at the sink and mirror. The bathtub was large, could easily accommodate two adults. The room service was excellent and quick in response. However, it would be nice if the in-room internet connection was provided free of charge…

Fullerton Hotel Swimming Pool
The swimming pool provides another stunning and breath-taking view of the river from the terrace, overlooking Boat Quay and the Asian Civilization Museum. To view and lounge by the pool side with such nice view was really a great treat. However I just thought that the pool was a little bit small. The room service also serves all the way to the pool side.
The location of the Fullerton Hotel Singapore is great. It is only about 15 min walk to numerous shopping centers like Marina Square and Suntec City. For those who like performing arts, Esplanade is just 5 min away.
Feedback from Andrew was simply exceedingly beautiful. Bewitched by Fullerton Hotel Singapore, everything just seemed to fall perfectly for him. I wouldn’t think Andrew will give a true, unbiased reflection; except for all the positive and greatness of the hotel.
Overall, I like the feel and look of the hotel, very colonial, and nicely decorated.
