Is Orchard Singapore the world famous shopping district? It is a difficult question to answer. It all depends on how you feel about the whole shopping experience.

And from the world famous cities, it usually comes with the world famous shopping district.

In New York, arguably the most famous shopping district in the world, the Fifth Avenue to 57th Street NYC, will keep you very busy.

In London, the mother of all shopping destinations attracts shopaholics from all over the world at any time of the year.

In Milan, Italy’s fashion capital, oozes style. Most of the city’s main shopping areas are around Milan’s finest landmark.

In Japan, we have the trendy and fashionable Shibuya district of Tokyo, especially its 109 Building (ichimaruku) has many trendy clothing shops and boutiques.

And the list goes on…

One thing in common among all these famous shopping cities…you’ll find everything like the stylish Louis Vuitton, the exquisite Bergdorf Goodman, the elegant Tiffany & Co., the ever popular Prada, the immaculate Versace, Cartier, Fortunoff, Dior, Fendi, and Chanel. And the list goes on and on…

But shopping in my opinion involves more than just branded goods, it is the wholesome feeling of thrill, comfort, satisfy, exclusivity, relax and knowing that you have purchased something that excites you. Other than the favourable exchange rate, it is almost impossible to have all these feeling/factors gathered together in one shopping place.

Fortunately I didn’t take long to finally find one – Singapore very own Orchard Road.

Orchard Singapore shopping gives me a reinvigorating experience which I didn’t find even in those large cities like London, Paris, New York and Milan. I was at ease and thus relaxed knowing that I am in a very safe country. I need not have to worry about bomb and terrorist harassing my shopping leisure. I was able to throng along the busy streets of orchard road admiring the latest products and zapping my cards without fear of retribution because of the country firm and no nonsense political correctness.

Spanning a distant of about 2.5km, stretching from the Tanglin Road / Orange Grove all the way to Dhoby Ghaut, Orchard Road seems to receive its name from the orchard plantation.

Today the former orchard plantation that housed in the areas have transformed into a world famous shopping district. The centrally located Orchard Road is the epic center of the whole shopping center in Singapore. You will reach the height of crescendo shopping having arrived in Orchard Singapore.

Along the famous street of orchard road…you will see a chain of shopping belt, though not physically link to each other, it is close enough for you to walk, jump or hop from one shopping spree to another…it’s really just a stone throw away.
