Organic food in Singapore is picking up its pace with the growing onset of healthy eating awareness.
Most of Singapore local food are delicious but they may not necessary be healthy in nature. Well…don’t get me wrong. I am not advocating that you should stop trying local specialties in your visit to Singapore. On the contrary, local delights are absolutely something that you cannot miss if you want to enjoy a memorable experience here.

However, that does not mean that your trip to Singapore have to be a journey of unhealthy diet. If you feel like taking on something light and natural after your overly sinful indulgence of greasy and meaty food, there are many healthier choices available for your eating pleasure if you were to look around carefully.

Organic food in Singapore are easily available and they can be found in all major super marts such as NTUC Fairprice, Carrefour and the Cold Storage Store in Vivo City. They put on the market a fantastic varieties of organic products ranging from greens and spices to poultry and dairy.

Most of the organic food in Singapore are priced slightly higher than the regular non-organic stuff because they are mostly imported. Home grown organic produce are also accessible and they can be found in a few organic farms in Singapore.
One of them is the Bollywood Veggies Farm where fresh organic veggies are locally cultivated from a farm in Neo Tiew Road together with a self run Bistro serving organic vegetables harvested fresh from its farm.
Another is Aero-Green Farm, located at Lim Chu Kang Agro Technology Park, well known for its nutritious organic butterhead juice made from butterhead lettuce with kiwi and lime.
Most of their organic plants, fruits and herbs produce are distributed to local supermarkets too. Don’t take their words for it if you are skeptical about their organic claims. Take a tour around their farms and checkout their organic farming methods. Both Bollywood Veggies and Aero-Green offer fun and educational farm tours for those who wish to appreciate the organic novelty.

Its market place offers almost 60 varieties of different organic fruits and vegetables for sales. Its 20-seater cozy café offers light meals like muesli, yogurt, caprese salads, baguettes, sandwiches and some pasta dishes for breakfast and lunch. Prices are reasonable.

Serves desserts that consist of purely organic ingredients. Oh, I love its Soya creme brulee, a dessert made of organic soy milk and light cream – totally smooth and creamy, yet healthy! Wonder is this the reason Paris got her sleek figure? Other selections include banana or orange smoothie and yoghurt, absolutely appealing to kids.

Highly recommended. This is one where you can find quality organic food in Singapore and yet easy on your pocket. Try out their burgers, spaghetti, fried noodles, curry noodles or their set meals. Definitely wholesome and value for money.
