Beautiful Sentosa Island
Beautiful Sentosa Island

It is no easy task to navigate the island if you want to explore all the Sentosa attractions. You need a map of the Island (you may pick up a copy of the Island Map at any Sentosa entry points)! The island is like a little world of it own… The island, a former fishing village, offers plenty of excitement and fun filled activities. What you can see inland can be attainable in this small little island.

They have lots of restaurant, cafes, fast food and local food stalls for those who wanted to enjoy a wonderful meal in the island. But for those who want to discover new things in the island, I would recommend you to pick up a map and look at the Imbiah region of the island…

If you are a little tired of the beaches, you can proceed to discover the many fun fill Sentosa attractions on the dry land. In Imbiah, you will be amazed at how the tropical resorts are able to blend in nature with technology to woo tourists from around the world.

Beautiful Butterfly Park and Exotic Insect Kingdom…

Butterfly Park

The Butterfly Park and the Insect Kingdom are both world famous establishment. The butterfly park itself housed almost 15000 live butterflies (one of the largest in Asia), whereas the Insect kingdom houses some 3000 types of unusual insect from around the world ( Giant millipedes, rhino beetles, scorpions and stick insects can be found, just to name a few). In fact, they have created a beautiful garden with lots of greenery, plants and flowers; the butterflies and other insects will simply fly over you with seamless ease.

Images of Singapore reveals the history of Singapore…

Images of Singapore

Next stop on our list of Sentosa attractions was the Images of Singapore. It is basically a wax museum, which reveals much about the history of Singapore, culture and tradition. Hmm…I found it a little slow, partly because it was less interactive and less engaging. In the end, we bought a few souvenirs back home from the Image of Singapore shop. The stop here was educational but really it didn’t appeal much to my children, let alone the adult.

Pamper your Bottom with a $10000 Vibration Seat…the Sentosa 4D Magix!

Sentosa 4D Magix

However, my children suddenly came into live again when we visited the Sentosa 4D Magix. The South East Asia first 4 dimensional theater, is a state of the art in projection technology. Watching a movies no longer feel the same…the spectacular show was littered with magic and special effect. Together with the highly modernized theater, it was a hell of an experience!

The motion and vibration seats (cost almost $10,000, a very expensive seat) which my kids really enjoyed, the wonderful DTS 6.1 surround sound effect system (water spray and leg ticklers) never failed to impress us, it even shocked us to a certain extent. The theatre provides a truly interactive experience and an amazing movie adventure where movies could jump out of the giant screen and transform a 3 dimensional into a 4 dimensional viewing pleasure. It kept everyone talking and in awe as we stepped out of the theater.

Riding High in a Cinema Roller Coaster in Cineblast!

While I was still visibly shaken by the special effect of the 4D Magix, the Cineblast brought my family into another dimension of pure ecstasy. The Cinema ride is one of a kind in Asia. Before I stepped in, I wouldn’t be able to imagine how it was like riding in a cinema. Sound absolutely ridiculous to me! The technology can be only found in theme park such as the Universal Studios in the United States. If you think the $10,000 (vibrating) seat is of something special, think again!

This time round, we were seated in a capsules costing over $150,000!! The virtual reality ride is not recommended for people who have heart condition or back problem, simply because the seat can jerk violently and throw you just as much like you are riding a real rollercoaster. That is how real it can be. If you are physically fit, this is one of the Sentosa attractions that you cannot afford to miss.

Slowing Down a Little with the Giant Merlion

Having enjoyed so much of those hearts pounding moment, we decided to slow down a little. It would be better to let my heart calm down after those adrenaline-pumping ride.

We visited the great Singapore icon: Giant Merlion. The Merlion has a lion head and a mermaid’s body. Standing at 37m tall, the Merlion offer a great scenic view of Sentosa Island and Singapore’s skyline.

The Tiger Sky Tower! What a Sight! Hold on to your Breath…

Tiger Sky Tower

A similar but yet even taller structure, the Tiger Sky Tower offers tourists another breathtaking view of Singapore. Standing at a height of 110m, this observation tower can extend the views to even Singapore neighboring countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. The Tiger Sky Tower has a unique ride. Visitors step into a disc shaped air-conditioned cabin with all round windows. The cabin will slowly revolves and move up the tower. This time round the pace was much slower; I was able to enjoy a moment of sublime beauty, overseeing the beautiful skyline of Singapore. What a spectacular sight…

With the sheer number of Sentosa attractions, the island is like a heaven to a child, a paradise resort to the adult. This is the biggest compliment I can give after experiencing so many wonderful sights in this beautiful island.

Try playing luge and skyride around night time…
It’s totally different feel compared to the daytime, you might feel even more scared due to your visibility is low.

And if you’re in the luck you might get to play more than once and it’s for FREE!
There are some operation hosts giving out complimentary tixs.

Once i got 3 tixs for free…Damn shiok!
