Shopping in Singapore

Shopping in Singapore…so many shops…so little time…

Shopping in Singapore can be so effortless. In a land scarce city like Singapore, we are able to house numerous shopping centers. How the government is able to squeeze out land to develop so many shopping districts puzzled even the most arduous seasoned shoppers. God Knows!

At first glance, you may only notice rows and rows of trees lining explicitly along the stretch of the road leading to the city. High rise and tall buildings soon take the majority of the scenic view and scores of concrete buildings will envelop you.

“Am I making the right decision to be here?” Self doubt slowly creeps into Christina’s mind, (my dear friend Pete’s wife). She is here for a sole reason – Shopping.

Amidst the bustling and hustling of the city dwellers, we the inhabitants of this small island found a national sport to break up the monotony of our everyday life – Shopping.

We shop to eat, we shop to cloth and we shop to stay ALIVE!!! (form of exercise to regulate our stressful body).

As Pete had rightly or wrongly put across “Singapore is a land of Ladies Shoppers”

Gender discrimination? Jealousy? Come on…What about the men?

What happen to the men when ladies shop? Simply, the men just have to WAIT!… Urghhh!!

Singapore main shopping belt lies in the heart of Orchard Road. Every year, millions of tourists landed on this tiny city island – Primarily to shop.

From the tiny street corners (Arab street and Little India) to the neighboring shop houses (Woodlands and Toa Payoh), and to the major shopping hubs (Suntec City and Vivio City), the shopping arteries link up, generating core of activities. Only the die hard shoppers will be able to survive without suffering from asthmatic attack.

To the fanatic shoppers, shopping in Singapore is a fantastic, visual and satisfying treat.

And I don’t just mean that, my friend Christina has seen it all.

She walked them… but yet to conquer all!!!

Of course she fell in love with almost everything in sight. From major brands like Louis Vuitton to mainstream wears like Hang Tang and U2. Poor Pete, it must have costed him a lot of damage. Do some damage control – Drink less mate!

Here in Singapore, shopping experience is…Insane! You hardly have time to rest and seat (Great Singapore Sales offer unbelievable BIG discount). You slow down at your own risk – the items could have gone in a few seconds. Sound exaggerating?

“Can you imagine, I just saw a beautiful red scarf. But I decided to take a rest before continuing my shopping spree.” Christina adds “Upon my return it was gone! No more stock !!!” Her face in disbelief…

Well… Shopping in Singapore is truly fascinating and intriguing…Just ask Christina!
