Swissotel The Stamford, The Tallest Five Star Hotel In Singapore…

Swissotel Stamford
Swissotel The Stamford being one of the tallest hotels in the world, stand tall and mighty in the heart of the Singapore city.
I stayed at the Swissotel Singapore during my anniversary for 3 days. The location is superb! With a short turn to the lobby, enter to the peacock alley and there you go – I was in the mall!! The hotel was rather busy with lot of movement in the lobby. Perhaps it was just next to the shopping belt, Raffles City.
There are many malls and stores near the hotel. You can take a short walk from this hotel to Suntec city and Marina Square which gives it a superb location. It is the only hotel which is connected to the train station, making traveling around Singapore so convenient, easy and fun. Most important, it helped me to save cost as well in my traveling expenses.
When I first arrived Swissotel The Stamford, I was standing there for a few minutes in the lobby, trying to figure out where was the check-in counter. I was quickly approached and my query immediately dealt with. This was what I called absolute service. Thumbs Up!
I had a great room on a high floor with a huge and excellent view. The Esplanade and the Merlion could be seen from the window of this hotel. Looking at the circuit for the forthcoming Grand Prix, the harbour view should have a good view of the circuit. And I supposed it was no doubt sold out by now.

Room @ Swissotel Singapore
When it comes to room in the Swissotel The Stamford, I would say I am really impressed. I felt very comfortable and a sense of relaxation. The room was very fragrant and clean. It bathroom was spacious and well fitted.
The room service and housekeeping service was prompt and nothing was a problem – even repeatedly changing the hair conditioner until my wife found the right one.
At first, I was quite unwilling to check into such a big establishment (staff generally would not provide the personal touch of a smaller hotel). But I was wrong! This was not the case of Swissotel The Stamford. The staffs were fabulous. However, I was a little bit disappointed when they charged extra for the usage of their gym facilities. That is strange and unheard of in my travels.
As for food, I did have my breakfast at the Swiss Café. Full buffet with English-typed cooked breakfast – fried eggs or omelettes and others. Service was excellent. Plates cleared quickly and tea/coffee topped up constantly. Talking about food, due to the close proximity of the hotel to Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, both of which were within easy walking distance from the hotel, it was an experience not to be missed.

Equinox Restaurant
My wife and I had dinner and drink at The Equinox Restaurant in the seventieth floor. It was a longest ride in the lift I ever experienced. I could feel the air pressure building up in my ears but we were feeling excited. The Equinox provides a unique dinning experience with a glorious view over the Singapore night skyline. It was breath taking! (Who needs the Singapore Flyer…hmm..?) And it was so happened that the restaurant was playing “Take My Breathe Away” by Jessica Simpson. How timely!
I would certainly recommend Swissotel The Stamford for anyone wanting to be in the central area who wants to explore Singapore on foot as well as having good access to local transport.
